Our wonderful time spent in Korea

Quinn spent the past 6 months in an immersion program in Seoul, Korea for the first half of his senior year (Aug 2014- Jan 2015). We got to go visit him at the end of his program, meet his host family and see a few things in Seoul. Natalie flew in from the USA, and arrived 10 minutes after our flight arrived at Incheon Airport. We met up at the baggage claim and walked out the doors to see Quinn waiting for us. It was amazing and a big relief to me that we were all able to meet up! We were relying on all our flight connections working out as planned, and thankfully they did! As we rode away in the van from the airport, Quinn took a call from his host Mom. He sounded like a Korean!! The next day, Sunday, Quinn gave a talk in his ward (in Korean, of course) and the Bishop got up afterwards and remarked how fluent Quinn has become. I'm so proud of him!!

Bro Song took us sight seeing-- we hiked up to a fortress and visited a folk village where many of our favorite dramas were filmed. We saw a woman demonstrating how silk is taken from the worms, the very strong fiber it produces to the beautiful fabric it becomes. Fascinating! We got to see some cool traditional dancing, do some rides including some sledding and eat yummy street food.

We had a very fun time with Quinn at a "Nore-bang" singing our hearts out!

Ethan, Otto's youngest brother, came up from Pusan (where he is currently stationed) and spent a few days with us. We visited Seoul's history museum, the Korean War Memorial, and a few palaces. My friend Gyoung Eh, who also lives in Nigeria, met us at the museum. =)

Sambon Ward took such good care of Quinn! Every Sunday the Bishop or one of his counselors would drive out to pick up Quinn. They became his family while in Korea. I love them!! The building is unique and beautiful so I had to get a picture. We took the metro and found the temple. It's a bit hidden how with all the high rises around it. When I was here on my mission it was dedicated and we all got to attend.

We're hoping to get assigned to Korea next!!
